      Replica Room

      Rumors spread of a mansion

Once belonged to a mad scientist, who was well-known

      clever, solitary, and insane

He worked hard till he died alone

No one knows what he left

      Whether be inventions or gold?

      Curiosity drew four kids

To the place their parents told

      Abandoned, wrecked, and haunted

The old fence couldn’t hold the strangers

They ignored the sign ‘Keep out’

And broke in to the house together.

      Dusty, dark, and webbed

The house turned to a nest of mice.

      Fearless kids searched every corner.

      With their own, tiny flashlight.

      ‘What are we looking for?’

One boy asked others the purpose.

He wondered if this was a test

To earn their friendship and trust.

Another boy gave him an answer.

      ‘Anything that looks cool’

He kept opening those old doors.

‘Could be useful devices, or tools.’

      ‘Come here! I found something!’

      The voice assembled all kids.

      He pointed behind a closet.

There was a red metallic switch.

      ‘Let’s see how it goes’

The bravest boy told others to be ready.

      His finger reached the switch.

Held his breath, pulled it down steady.

      Sweeh! Swoosh! Swoop!

      It seemed something happened,

      Like a machine being revived

The wall revealed a secret door in sudden.

      Scared, confused, excited

All kids stared at the door they found.

‘Replica room’, the above sign said.

The door led to a tunnel underground.

The end of the path was a room.

      Cold, surrounded with iron walls.

There was a red large button outside.

The room seemed empty, but there were 2 dolls.

The creepy dolls laid on the floor.

      Looked identical like a twin.

      Nearby was an envelope.

Where an instruction was put in.

One boy picked it up and read out,

Explained to others who toe on their foot.

‘Anything in this room will duplicate perfectly

Once the red button is pushed’

‘The button must be pushed for a while

The door will close at some time

It may take about an hour

Be patient, and you will get a good wine’

‘A day is the time the machine needs

      Until the process is completed’

All kids wondered if it was true,

Or it’s just the dead man’s tricky sheet.

      One way to find out.

They left two flashlights and two dolls inside.

Pushed the button, wait, then the door finally fell.

They moved out and waited for the next night.

The next day, they arrived at the time they’d left.

The door of the room opened wide.

They were surprised what they saw.

4 of each item were in front of their eyes.

‘I will get my toys doubled!’ Said George

‘Oh! that is a good idea’ Said Fred

      ‘You guys are fools…

I will get mom’s rings here and get rich’ Said Ted

The two boys agreed with him.

They would get back home and bring jewelry.

They asked the one who stayed in silent.

      ‘How bout’ you, Timothy?’

      He smiled and nodded

But the boy did not answer.

His family were poor and had no legacy,

And was not rich like others.

They all went back to their home.

To get their priceless things multiplied.

Timothy also went back and thought.

What was the precious thing he could find?

      Right then, he recalled.

The most precious thing their parents had.

He went to kitchen and grabbed the stuffs.

Along with a large bag of his dad.

All of them got back from their home.

      With gems, pendants and rings.

‘What are you bringing Tim?’ They asked

They all looked at Timothy’s thing.

Tim’s precious was hide in the bag.

They were curious. ‘What is that?’

Could it be jewelry like others

      Or something like cashes?

Tim showed them the knife and foods he got.

Their curiosity dropped, they looked sad.

‘Sorry Tim, we didn’t mean to

We just wondered what is in the bag’

He nodded and smiles as always.

‘I don’t mind you guys at all.

You can leave your things to me.

I will keep pushing the button until the door falls’

‘You are such a good man’ They praised

They left him and went back.

Tim was there, pushed the button.

Finally, the door began its track.

While the door was falling down.

      Tim quickly crawled inside.

      Waited until the door shut

Cuz’ he had planned to stay for the night.

The most precious thing his parents had

Is nothing but himself if you asked.

      He would get himself multiplied

And dissect his replica’s organs for cashes.

The night had passed, the kids were back.

In front of the house they trespassed.

There, the poor boy just ran out from the house.

With his bag that was full of masses.

‘You get here earlier than us’ They teased.

He smiled and walked as fast as he got.

‘He seems rush today’ said Ted

‘Maybe he doesn’t want his food to get rotted.’

The big bag contained human parts.

He put it down and started crying.

‘I don’t mean to kill you, Timothy.

But I did to protect myself from your killing’

      End
